Award-Winning Aviation Artist to Exhibit in Monroe, NC Marc Stewart will be returning to “Warriors & Warbirds” Airshow. Internationally known aviation artist Marc Stewart returns to Monroe, North Carolina, this weekend. He will be exhibiting his award-winning artwork at the Warriors & Warbirds Airshow on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8. Stewart participated in last year’s show, too.
“I’m looking forward to it,”
the Georgia artist explains. “My artwork has always been well-received in North Carolina. It makes sense considering the rich aviation history there.”
Stewart will exhibit his “Celebration of Heroes” series of limited edition prints, many of which are autographed by WWII pilots and aces. “Those signatures make it personal,” says Stewart. “The artwork evolves from an historical piece to a piece of history.” A variety of open edition giclée prints and other art items will also be available. The Warriors & Warbirds Airshow will be held at the Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport.

A variety of aircraft and VIP guests is scheduled for the two-day aero-extravaganza. Highlights include a “Meet the Heroes” tent, aircraft rides, and a veteran’s program. There’s even a 1940s-style hangar dance on Saturday night. Marc Stewart has self-published 50 limited and open edition art prints. His artwork has illustrated such magazines as Aviation History and Military History, among others. Professional recognition and accolades for his artwork include winning First Place-Military from Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine for his painting “Forrestal’s Phantoms.” In 2008, the National Museum of Naval Aviation (Pensacola, FL) named Marc Stewart the recipient of the prestigious R. G. Smith Award for Excellence in Naval Aviation Art. He is an Artist Fellow member of the American Society of Aviation Artists (ASAA).
