Union County Woman’s Club (UCWC) was founded in April 2009 by a group of local women hoping to better their community. As a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs they belong to one of the oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational volunteer groups in the world.

Focusing on six departments of interests:
Arts, Beautification/Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Affairs, and Public Affairs; the group hopes to broaden their own knowledge as well as help others in their community. In the current year UCWC has approved the following interests to focus their volunteer efforts: Flashes of Hope, Going to Summer Camp, recycling program, planting flowers/trees, build a library, Classroom Central, Adopt a Family at Christmas, provide stuffed animals/fleece blankets, Operation Smile, Samaritans Feet, Harvest Fest, and domestic violence.

Since beginning in April, UCWC has participated in “Walk the Course Against Domestic Violence”, “Shoes of Hope”, and the Sandy Ridge “Junk-In-The-Trunk” sale; donated to the “BackPack Program”; delivered flowers to Hospice House; and is currently holding a back to school supply drive.
