Leaders from Presbyterian Healthcare and Union County Public Schools will come together to sign a formal agreement, marking the beginning of a seven-year partnership to provide advanced sports medicine care to the school system’s student-athletes.
Presbyterian Healthcare will place a total of 10 certified athletic trainers in Union County schools by fall 2012; Piedmont High School will receive the first trainer this spring. The partnership includes trainers’ services during the school week, game-day medical coverage, training for first responders, creation of emergency preparedness plans, sports injury seminars and clinics as well as nutrition education and overall wellness programs.
The agreement will be signed on Tuesday, April 27, 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Union County Public Schools Board Room, 400 N. Church St., Monroe
Leaders from Presbyterian Healthcare and Union County Public Schools will take part in the formal contract signing. Student-athletes from Monroe High School will also be in attendance.
