Union County Crime Stoppers Holds Annual BBQ
If you missed this event, well then, you missed some great BBQ. I stopped by the Union County Crime Stoppers to enjoy some great food and to shoot video of this very popular Union County tradition. I found Sheriff Eddie Cathey & Monroe, NC Mayor, Bobby Kilgore serving up the goods. Sheriff Cathey piled so much BBQ on my plate I thought it would spill over the sides. Roger Lane, President of the Union County Crime Stoppers, kept the sweet ice tea flowing and wouldn’t allow your cup to get near empty. I was so full, that I had to grab some lemon-iced homemade pound cake to go. When I snacked on it later, I was mad at myself for not grabbing a couple more pieces, it was delicious.
The BBQ was held at the Union County, NC Agricultural Center on Presson Rd. This was my first visit to the Center and it is a fantastic building. If you get a chance to attend an event here, take advantage and check out this Center. I had a very nice conversation with Ernest Collins who serves on the Crime Stopper Committee. Ernest explained the event and why it is so important for our community to support this worthy cause. Below are the video highlights of the event.
