Union County, N.C. Crime Stoppers Bar-B-Que
Union County Crime Stoppers will be holding their annual Bar-B-Que fundraiser on Friday, January 16, 2009 from 11:00am to 8:00pm. at the Union County Agriculture Business Center, 3230 Presson Rd., Monroe, NC. This is a very worthwhile event and this organization can certainly use your support.
Plates are $7.00 for Pork Bar-B-Que or Marinated Turkey.
Crime Stoppers was organized in Union County, NC in 1981. This organization and Law Enforcement work together to help prevent and solve crimes in Union County. The Crime Stoppers program will forward information you have concerning unsolved crimes and wanted persons to the appropriate law enforcement agency. All callers remain anonymous and may receive rewards up to $2,000.00 and in some cases more. In 2008, approximately $7,000 was awarded in tip money.
Please join me and The Monroe Scoop in supporting this organization. The men and women of Union County Law Enforcement take on their duty with honor and bravery. The county and city officers patrol Union County, NC day and night while we sleep, helping to keep us and our community safe. When we call, they respond. These officers respond not knowing what dangers they will confront and they do it day in and day out. How many of us put our life on the line everyday when we go to work? This BBQ and the money raised helps to support their efforts to help us, the community in which they serve. How about marking your calendars or putting an alert on your cell phone right now for January 16, to drop by the Ag Business Center on Presson Rd. to pick up a plate of BBQ. Please organize a pickup for your business or bring plates home that night for your family. The BBQ will be delicious, and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you gave a little something back to the community.
