Monroe, NC – An article on peanut allergies written by UCPS School Nursing Supervisor Wendy Nielsen has been published in the January 2010 issues of the national magazine “School Nurse News.”
The article is titled, “When there is no school nurse, are teachers prepared for students with peanut allergies?” The article, which serves as the magazine’s cover story, details why schools need to plan for these allergies, details the symptoms of peanut allergies, and gives teachers detailed information about peanut allergies.
Nielsen, who coauthored the article with Kathy Lindsey, director of the Graduate Nursing Programs at Gardner-Webb University, has been a nurse for 12 years, and a school nurse with UCPS for six years.
