Possible Scam.
On 08/01/2009 a white female approximately 40 years of age, reddish brown hair, brown eyes and dressed in a business suit operating a blue in color compact car went to a residence in Monroe and stated that she was a representative for Fifth/Third Bank. The female began a conversation by indicating she was aware that the resident was in a financially difficult situation in regards to their home mortgage. The female then began to ask personal questions and ended the conversation by handing the resident an envelop with the resident’s name and the word “confidential” stamped in red. The envelop contained an official looking letter regarding financial assistance and two financial information request forms. The resident called Fifth/Third Bank and was advised that the female did not represent the bank and the numbers on the letter were not bank phone numbers.
