Margaret James, art teacher at Piedmont Middle School, was recently featured in the winter issue of Pen & Palette.
Margaret has illustrated many published childrens’ books including: Houghton-Mifflin’s New Riverside edition of Call of the Wild, The Anchor and Cecilia by Blonnie Wyche published by Jack Brame Publishing, and Fire in Her Hair, Thank You Moses, Thank You Paul, Thank You Hannah, and Glass published by The Glass Press.
Margaret is a member of the following organizations: Society of Children’s Book Writers and Publishers, North Carolina Watercolor Society, Charlotte Art League, Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, and the National Art Education Association.
Career highlights include: Fashion Illustrator Belk Store Services, Design Instructor: Charlotte Art Institute, Freelance illustrator & graphic designer, and Owner of Harlequin Originals Gallery.
Margaret was also named Piedmont Middle School’s Teacher of the Year for 2009-2010.
