Homer was born September 11, 1931 in Union County to the late Vann Buren Love, Sr. and Rosa Simpson Love. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Brice, Charlie, Willard, and Tom; sisters, Christine Love, Maude Bowman, and Ona Mae Privette.
Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 7PM at Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel. The family will begin to receive friends 1 hour prior.
Mr. Love worked for Whitin Machine Works as a machinist for many years, worked for Love Plumbing as a mechanic, and then later owning and operating Love Septic Tanks and Grading. He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching races, and flea marketing. But most of all, he dedicated his life to his family and helping others.
Homer is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary H. Love; son, Stephen Love and his wife LeNeal; 2 grandchildren, Shayne Love and his wife Cristina and Matthew Love and his wife Erin; 3 great-grandchildren, Georgia Kate Love, Bryson Luke Love, and Caleb David Love.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Union County.
