Mr. Helms, 84, passed away on September 21, 2010.
Burvin was born on April 29, 1926 in Union County to the late Price Helms and Connie McCoy Helms. He is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby; brothers, Marge and Abe Helms; and sister, Julie Squires.
The family will receive friends Sept. 22 from 6-8PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 2PM at Eastwood Forest Baptist Church with Reverend Roger Burrows officiating.
Mr. Helms worked as a welder and retired from L. S. Kelbough. He was a member of Eastwood Forest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol Starnes and her husband Loyd; sons, Horace Helms and his wife Pam and Larry Helms and his wife Pat;brother, T.C. Helms and his wife Mary; sisters, Myrtle Privette and Callie Helms; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastwood Forest Baptist Church.
