Union County, North Carolina
The following principal positions were approved by the Union County Board of Education at its June 23, 2009, meeting. They will be effective July 1, 2009.
Theresa Benson, currently an assistant principal at Hemby Bridge Elementary School, has been named the principal of Walter Bickett Elementary School. Benson replaces Dr. John Jones who has been reassigned to Central Services as the Director of Middle School Education.
Priscilla Davis, currently an assistant principal at Kensington Elementary School, has been named the principal of New Town Elementary School. Davis replaces Dr. David Kafitz who has been reassigned to Central Services as the Director of Media and Technology.
Dr. David “Jay” Jones, currently an assistant principal at Waxhaw Elementary School, has been named the principal of Marvin Elementary School. Jones replaces Denise Creech who has requested to be reassigned to another position.
Brenda Sue Kasell, currently an assistant principal at Wesley Chapel Elementary School, has been named the principal of Weddington Elementary School. Kasell replaces Mike Sabrinsky who retired.
Barry L. Ross, an assistant principal at Forest Hills High School, has been named the principal of South Providence School. Ross replaces Dana Crosson who has been reassigned to Central Services as the Director of Secondary Education.
