Monroe Police Department’s Violent Crimes Task Force and the Criminal Investigations Bureau arrested James Christopher Boshers for First Degree Murder today (July 23). Boshers was taken into custody at the Richland County Detention Center in Columbia, S.C.
On Sunday (July 19) at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Monroe Police Department was contacted by a physician from the Palmetto Healthcare Clinic in Columbia, S.C. regarding a patient who said he believed he may have harmed his girlfriend. The doctor stated the patient entered the facility seeking treatment and requested that someone check on his girlfriend in Union County.
When a Monroe Police Officer received the call, detectives went to the home at 4106 Rocky River Road and after not receiving a response, made a forcible entry into the home. Once inside, officers discovered Sandra Wengert, 47, deceased.
Boshers was given a District Court Date of Sept. 3, 2009 and placed in the Union County Jail without bond.
