Monroe, NC - WIXE Radio along with Spivey Insurance of Indian Trail awarded The WIXE Officer of the Month for March, 2012 to Sgt. Mark Greene.
The presentation was made by Kathie Easton, WIXE Sales Manager & Chris Spivey, owner of Spivey Insurance Group.
Sgt. Greene has been a police officer with the Monroe Police Department for 24 years.
He has served in many capacities including patrol officer, detective and is currently a sergeant over patrol.
From the award ceremony…
Sgt. Greene takes great pride in his profession and provides excellent service to the community and the citizens of Monroe.
He lends a helping hand whenever and wherever needed.
For his community project, he assisted an 80 year old gentleman who was a victim of a breaking and entering.
Sgt. Greene saw a need for some security measures to be implemented around the man’s house so he bought and installed deadbolt locks, peepholes, and an outside light and cleared the debris around the back door.
Sgt. Greene is quite the handy man as he has done many projects like this for others as well as the police department. He made a video drop box for the police department evidence room and made a box for the dive team to secure evidence while underwater.
Several years ago, he took the initiative to install audio visual equipment in the meeting room at the department. These projects have proven to be tremendous assets to the department.
Sgt. Greene is a very giving and caring person and gives graciously of his time and talents to the department, the City of Monroe and its residents.
The Monroe Police Department is fortunate to have Sgt. Greene on the force.
Congratulations Sgt. Mark Greene.
