Monroe, NC – On 4/10/11, around 1:45 p.m., Kay Jewelers located at 3039 W. Hwy. 74 in the Poplin Place Shopping Center was robbed. Two black men brandishing handguns entered the store, told customers and employees to get on floor face down and demanded that the clerk give them the money in the register. The suspects left the store with an undisclosed amount of money and jewelry.
The description of the first suspect is a dark-skinned black male, approximately 5’6” to 5’8’ tall, shiny metal front teeth, brown-tipped dreadlocks and was wearing a multi-colored jacket (red, green, and possibly yellow or gold) and a dark colored baseball cap with a flat brim and white front. This suspect was also wearing large dark sunglasses with a brown edge along the bottom of the lenses.
The second suspect was approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall, dark-skinned black male, long dreads and was wearing all dark baggy clothing and a dark colored baseball cap with a flat brim with possibly a white “A” in script on the front. He was also wearing dark sunglasses.
