Indian Trail Partners With NCDOT On Strategic Road Improvement

Indian Trail, NC – Town of Indian Trail, NC, April 27, 2010 – At the April 27th Town Council meeting, the Indian Trail Town Council approved a $200,000 contribution to partner with NCDOT and private firms to widen a portion of Indian Trail-Fairview Road. The overall project will cost approximately $700,000. NCDOT will be working with the Town on the details of the project.

Road Improvement will Attract and Retain Businesses and Jobs

“We appreciate the NCDOT working with the Town of Indian Trail on this proactive economic development project. In my experience, infrastructure improvements will be critical to recruit and retain jobs for Indian Trail. Based on public testimony we’ve heard, this project will help the Old Hickory Industrial Park and others in attracting businesses and jobs”, said Indian Trail Town Manager Joe Fivas.

This three lane road improvement will probably be connected to the future Union County bypass project which could be completed in the next few years. The turnpike (NCTA) plans indicate that the end of our current proposed project will terminate close to the end of their proposed project. This will resolve future congestion, help with commercial product delivery, and hopefully increase public safety.
