Video Tour of IKEA
Unless you have been frozen in time and just unthawed, you have most likely have heard of the new IKEA Store that recently opened in Charlotte, NC. The location is very convenient to Monroe and it’s about a 35-40 minute drive away.
I was nicely invited to tour the IKEA Store in Charlotte with my wife.
**You married guys who may be reading this understand what I mean by “nicely invited”. It means get your stuff and get in the car right now because you are taking me to IKEA.
If you gotta go, make the best of it. I’m not a big shopper kind of guy. I grabbed my Kodak Zi6 flip camera and since I was going, I thought I would take the opportunity to make a Monroe Scoop Z-Video. What is a Z-Video you ask? A “Z-Video” is simply a term I gave to my videos where I’m using the small hand-held video camera made by Kodak called the Zi6. It’s about the size of a Blackberry phone. It takes amazingly good high-definition video. I usually don’t use a tripod, so you have to just try and be steady and deal with the natural shaking of your hands.
I enjoyed the Charlotte IKEA very much. It’ very large and I think if you are a shopper, you should allow yourself several hours to shop. My favorite part of the store was the in-store cafeteria. IKEA’s prices are very reasonable and the food was excellent. As good as any food you are served in the fancy restaurants. We both enjoyed their specialty of Swedish Meat Balls. They were so good, it wouldn’t be hard to talk me into going back just for a dinner.

It’s very easy to drive to the IKEA Store from Monroe. Take 485 towards Concord. When 485 runs into 85, take I-85 south. Once you pass the Harris Blvd. exit, start looking for the IKEA exit. It’s very well marked. You can’t miss it. Now go to IKEA, take a truck and spend some money.
