Governer Perdue Vetoes NC Budget

Oscar HarwardNC Governor Beverly Perdue “vetoed” a budget of the NC General Assembly that stimulated relief to taxpayers of a 1% optional sales tax and a small 1.6% spending reduction on education.

Just like President Obama, NC Governor Beverly Perdue continues with an even expanded “tax and spend” agenda. Taxes are high. Unemployment is high. Families are struggling to maintain a home and food on their tables. Inflation is up causing the cost of living to increase.

Graduating students from high school and college are finding it difficult to find jobs and/or specific specialties they earned.

NC is among the highest taxed state in the United States. Liberal Democrat Party leaders often compare North Carolina with Tennessee’s taxes. NC has a sales tax rate at 6% plus local options. Tennessee has a sales tax rate at 7% plus local options.

What liberal NC democrats fail to disclose is that Tennessee has “no income taxes” that apply to salaries and wages http://www.bankrate.com/brm/itax/edit/state/profiles/state_tax_Tenn.asp.

When will President Obama, NC Governor Beverly Perdue, and other liberal democrats vote to provide tax relief for North Carolina’s working taxpayers?

Government cannot provide all benefits, for all people, all the time, and maintain a free and open economy.

I love how people can slam politicians for doing something but never seem to come up with solutions that would benefit everyone. I’m sure taxes aren’t raised just to see how high they can go…

I’m not a Democrat or Republican. I’m not a liberal or conservative. I am however a normal, rational human that takes my beliefs from all sides. I believe in small government but also a woman’s right to choose. I believe in Social Security and Welfare reform but also that we as a society need to help those less fortunate (Note I said HELP not DO FOR). I think most people are like me – on both sides of the fence depending on the issue. Rhetoric does nothing but insight and polarize people. Let’s try to understand and work around instead!
