Last Monday, Somer Thompson, age 7, of Clay County Florida disappeared while on her way home from school. Her body was found 50 miles away in a Georgia landfill. It has been revealed now that more than 70 registered sexual offenders lived around her and her school. The murderer has not yet been caught but this should scare every citizen in every county in the USA. As of this writing there have been no arrests and no suspects.
The Sheriff provides OffenderWatch® as a free community program. The service is very easy to use. Just type in your address and the program will identify by photo, address and crime those offenders living near you. When I used the service myself, the program identified 8 registered sexual offenders living within a 2 mile radius of me.
Visit the OffenderWatch® website and find out if a registered offender lives near you.
People who would like to donate money to help the family members go to Florida for Somer Thompson’s funeral can give to a fund set up at CommunityOne Bank in Graham, NC.
People can bring cash or a check to the bank, which is at 1128 S. Main St., Graham. Or people can write a check to the Sammy Thompson Benefit Fund and send it to CommunityOne Bank, 1128 S. Main St., Graham, N.C., 27253.
