Carolinas Medical Center – Union Delivers First Baby Of 2010


Monroe, NC – It’s a boy! The first baby born at Carolinas Medical Center-Union in 2010 arrived at 10:33 a.m. on New Year’s Day. William Jaton Watson, Jr., weighing in at 6 pounds, 4 ounces, and measuring 21 inches, was delivered via Caesarean section by Natasha Adams-Denny, MD, of Union Obstetrics and Gynecology. His parents are Brandy Carlton and William Watson of Monroe. This is Ms. Carlton’s fourth child and Mr. Watson’s first child.

For being CMC-Union’s New Year’s baby, the CMC-Union Nursery staff presented Ms. Carlton and Mr. Watson with a large gift basket filled with items including a car seat, blanket, hat, toys and rattles.

In addition, Ms. Carlton received an embroidered spa robe from CMC-Union as part of its new Pampered Moms Club program. Expectant moms who sign up to be a part of the Pampered Moms Club receive several helpful benefits including monthly e-newsletters during pregnancy and their baby’s first year, free prenatal classes, access to a personal pregnancy coach, extra touches after delivery including a spa robe, breastfeeding instruction and one-on-one assistance, and a courtesy call from a registered nurse a few days after leaving the hospital.
