Marshville, NC Police said the car was riddled with bullets.
“Originally we thought it was an accident, but then we found the body,”
- Police Chief Mike Gaddy.
The victim was identified as 24-year-old Mitchell Little, Jr.
Despite the numerous bullet holes in the car, Gaddy said Little was shot only once.
A passerby spotted the wrecked car around midnight at Highway 74 and Elizabeth Avenue. The car had crashed into a utility pole.
Little died en route to the hospital, Gaddy said.
It was unclear whether the victim was shot while driving, or if the shots were fired from another vehicle.
Little’s father told a reporter Monday his son had just visited his girlfriend before the shooting.
The State Bureau of Investigation has been called in to help with the case.
