A car accident on Skyway and East Ave. today tied up traffic today around 1:40pm in Monroe. According to Monroe Police Department it appeared 2 trucks collided as one merged onto Skyway from Highway 74. Two passengers were pinned in the truck from the accident Monroe Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene and were able to pull the victims to safety and they were transported to the hospital. Despite the condition of the one truck, both passengers are believed to be okay. The accident scene is now clear and traffic was flowing normally as of the posting of this article. Initial analysis of the cause of the accident is believed to be speed.
