Balloon Release Highlights Tragedy Of Domestic Violence


MONROE, NC

Turning PointOctober is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic Violence Shelters across the country will hold different events and projects as a way to show the devastation caused by domestic violence while calling the community to take action against this silent killer.

October 20th, at 9:00 am at the Union County Judicial Center Square in Monroe, Turning Point Battered Women’s Shelter will release 59 purple balloons in memory of each of the victims who have been killed at the hands of their abuser in our state so far this year. One of these victims lived in Union County. Turning Point staff will also be available from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm to distribute information and answer questions.

Please join us as the community remembers these victims. YOUR help is needed to end the violence!
